HV20 recording directly to final cut w/o tape

is this possible?  anyone ever do this?  basically i want to record directly to my laptop using final cut so i don't have to go through tape flips.

Works fine for me with sony vegas as well as cyberlink power producer. Just try at home first.Set up to do a capture with the cam in record mode and make sure if you are not recording to tape that your cam is set to not ever automatically power off.

Yes, you can do it.  You need to set your capture device to a non-controllable device.  You can also set the video to come firewire and the audio to come from another source, like optical or USB, for your instant a/v sync'd recordings...
