usb hard drives

Is a ny1 using usb based HD's in the field?  Seems like an easy way to go for older lappy's, but just curious!

not in the field but, i use one to store my shows as shn's, so i always have an extra copy of my shows if the cds i have get scratched. works out well..
AKG 391's > phantom boxes > JB3 or Casio DA-7
Panasonic WM1610 omni's > whatever

Playback: Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum > Onkyo TSDX595 > matched Oynix Rockets > Mirage FRX-S8 sub
