Title: Where do people go to buy new mics?
Post by: gewwang on May 10, 2017, 11:15:46 AM
When I last bought a new pair of mics around the late 90s/early 2000s, we had Sonic Sense, Oade and maybe a handful of others to order thru to support our community retailers and because they would always be willing to negotiate price, throw-ins like boxes of dat tapes, etc.

Now I'm considering some of the newer modular DPA mics, I'm wondering if there are any retailers still around like this or is the only option to order thru the big retailers like B&H.

I believe core sound is a dpa retailer.

Dale Pro Audio are good folks plus Sonic Sense is still in the game...Marc Nutter has moved up in seniority but still available for assistance.

I've purchased from Full Compass. Call to get the best price.

I think Doug Oade still does this; at least he did when I ordered my first set of DPA modulars in 2011 (and he got me a pretty good discount, too).  You will like that product line, by the way.  Very flexible...
