Canon DV camcorders
« on: September 09, 2004, 04:17:17 PM »
How well do these two Canon camcorders do for concerts? ZR85+80?

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Canon-ZR85-Camcorder--9382A001-/sem/rpsm/oid/88746/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Canon-ZR80-Camcorder--9383A001-/sem/rpsm/oid/88745/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

I've played with the ZR80 and it looked small enough, great zoom, and with $350 tag its cheap enuff.

But how's it do otherwise (color contrast/indoors/sound)?  Any ideas?

Because nothing says "I have lots of money and am sort of confused as to how to spend it" like Bose.

I've not used a Canon before, but can attest to the Sony DCR-TRV27 and DCR-TRV33. These go between $350-$450 on ebay. I picked up a new, in-the-box DCR-TRV33 this week for $489. Both of these together have made quite a few tasty multi cam masters for me. Just my experience...let us know what you go for.
