Plus the good thing about waiting for a while is that there are ALWAYS better products at cheaper prices becoming available.
Line Audio CM4 / AT853Rx (c,h,o) / Studio Projects C4 MKII (c,h,o)
Sound Devices MP-2 / bm2p+ Edirol UA-5
Zoom F3 / F6 / Marantz Oade Warm Mod PMD661 / Tascam DR-70D

Thanks for all the feedback, guys.

Some quick, directed questions.

1) If i taped from the same location, but narrowed the angle between the mics, I'd presumably pick up more high-end on the recording, as well as narrowing the stereo image.   Any other benefits/drawbacks?

2) If, from the same location, I angled the mics upward towards the PA, would I benefit at all?  I imagine I'd get more high-end, as the high-end is more on-axis, and less of the inane chatter of drunken sorority girls.  Would the stereo image be affected at all?

Thanks again.

J
