Title: Convert Headphone Output to Line Level Output
Post by: gihl on August 24, 2017, 11:00:41 AM
Hi,
I am sorry if the same question has been posted here.  :-\

I would like to know if there is a converter that converts the Headphone output to Line Level output.
For reference audio, I want to connect the headphone output of the Roland R-05 to the microphone jack of the iPhone.
I wish it could be a simple device/adapter.

I am sorry that my english is poor.
Thanks for reading.

I've used the ART Cleanbox Pro Dual Channel Level Converter in the past to convert sound board headphone jack output to balanced line levels.

I do not think you need any converters. Just connect the headphone output and line in input by cable. Minimize headphone volume at R05 and then gradually add until you have the perfect signal on the iphone.

It is all about the cable. You need to make sure the mini jack on the phone side is TRRS. Rode makes good adapters and patch cables, check Amazon. Without the TRRS plug the iPhone won’t recognize the mini jack as an input. A better solution is a Apogee Jam.

Blue mikey is made for iPhone and has a 1/8" mic in option I have used to stream from both headphone and line out on my R-44.
