Dear All,
This is my first post here.
I've been taping a bit (Cure concerts) in the past, with Sony MD, and recently with my Iphone 5S (don't smile). Of course it is not the best device to record but i'd like to enhance my new Iphone7 (lighning port) with a proper mic around 100$ . Could you advice me please ?
Many Thanks in advance,
Ed

I've heard good things about the Shure Motiv MV88. You just missed a used one in the YS.

EDIT TO ADD:
Thanks for taping The Cure too. Hopefully you can up the budget to $150. More Cure recordings = A better world. :D

The Zoom IQ5 and IQ7 sound good.

Pretty happy with the mv88 so far. I've seen them used & new here & on ebay for as low as $110. Otherwise, it'll set you back $150.

Thanks for your replies.
The Shure MV88 seems to be the best options, i'll probably buy it and try it on several shows of the next tour ;-)
Cheers

There are also ones from Rode but I've never tried them

I borrowed one briefly some time ago. Never figured out a way to mount it inside the hat.

The Rode IXY also looks really nice. Main advantage of the Shure is you can aim it, so it'd be easier to, say, put the phone in a shirt pocket and point the Shure out of it....
