Iphone 7plus for recording?

I am buying Iphone 7plus and am thinking I might use this to record. have a few questions

1. What is the best app to use for recording audio/video? Something easy and dependable
2. Will I be able to use my Church mics. to record AND if so would I need battery box?

Would mostly use for video but if going some place where not convenient to bring in deck would want to be able to record audio

Good questions. There is not a lot of info on this, so I had to do some research on my own to find out stuff that "works".  As for recording apps, I use the Shure MOTIV the most. It's laid out nicely and you can adjust the recording levels.

I have also used the NCH RecordPad app and it's very nice as well (I just like the Shure more for some reason). You can adjust the levels via it as well ...

Lastly, I have used the VERY DETAILED and incredible PVD Field Recorder app (I think it's available for iPhone as well). It's not as simplified as the above two, but it's VERY impressive for a recording app ...

I went out and bought the Shure MV88 Microphone and so far I like it. Haven't recorded a show yet but seems to work fine so far. It wouldn't connect with my case so I bought an otter case on sale and cut away so mic fits. The only problem is I don't believe that you can use app with any other microphones (like my church CA-11's). I tried plugging mics and using that little adapter thing that came with the phone but program wouldn't recognize the mics. Am I doing something wrong?
If this won't work with outside microphones is there an app that is free or cheap and easy to use that would work  with my Iphone 7plus?
