Mics on glasses

(1/10) > >>

Wayne Kisbee:
Hi,

Right, this might sound odd, but going to ask anyway.

I have used a croakie mounted pair of AT853s for the past 10 years or so but recently the croakies have started to come apart and instead of getting them re done, I was thinking of mounting them on my glasses with black tape. Is this a good idea?

It would also give me a bit more scope for larger gigs as I have a pair of hyper cardoid elements that I haven't used for years.

Cheers

Limit35:

Sure, I have done that. Buy a roll of narrow width gaff tape to tape them up.

Or beg a strip of wide gaff tape off someone else's roll, and tear it into narrow strips. Gaffer's Tape tears neatly, because it's made of denim fabric with adhesive backing.

Look out for tape goo in your hair. Even gaff ain't perfect.

MakersMarc:
Or gaff them to the inside of a baseball cap, and not get busted. Really it doesn’t appreciably  affect the sound.

mfrench:
or you could go with stereo puppies
