I tested mine at the house one time on a 6v that was a couple years old. I got about 7.5 hrs on the msbm1>d8. I also had the light on and headphones plugged in the whole time.

i was always skeptical of this, but then when i went out to CO with my band I just had to use the 6volts to save time and money.  ever since then (beg. of june) i've been running my m1 on on 6v every show.  now it's been debated that newly manufactured(within the last 2-4 years) m1s and d100s can handle it but the older ones can't.  mine was bought new in feb 03.  however i guess it could fry at any time but i'm not worried.  i've put alot of hours on that thing so any frying of the m1 will just force me to get the jb3 ;D

I run my D100 and mod SBM1 off a 6 volt now and have gotten 6.5 easy...have not stress tested it, but I would bet there is more juice there.  that being said, the mod sbm is a power hungry machine...

I have heard it is not safe to run the D100 off 6 volts, but I have done it for 3 years without a problem...ymmv
