dude i forgot to check this thread last night, i wil try to remember tonight if you're still having troubles.  you're using sound forge 5.0 right?

I have had this issue come up in SF 6.0e and it is always usually a size issue. What I do is just choose to save as a .w64 file it is SF proprietary file format it is lossless. Just save it .w64 has no file size limit other than your HDD and then split it where necessary

After I split it i save it as an individual wav file. With a 16/48 recording though it would have to be very long to reach a size limit. Be sure to check that you are recording at the 16/48 and not 24. I have never had this problem with 16/48 because 2 gigs is like 3 + hours
