What DVD player to buy?
« on: January 26, 2006, 10:33:13 AM »
I am interested in picking up my first stand alone DVD player.  To tell the truth I am not sure what I want.  For the last year I have been recording some shows with my laptop at 24/48.  It would be nice to burn DVD-A’s of them and put some 16 bit shows on one disc for playback.  I have speakers with a digital input so this unit would run straight into them, and possibly a tube headphone amp.  So what should I be looking for in a DVD player, what options are out there, what are you using?  I am totally new at the world of DVD audio; phase two will be learning how to author DVD-A’s.  So far I have only used DVD’s to back up my masters recorded with JB3 or laptop.  Budget is not an issue but if it costs more there needs to be a good reason.  Playing movies is a secondary feature since I don’t own a TV.  Any info would be great, thanks, Ed
