sonosax sx-m2
« on: January 19, 2005, 08:06:55 AM »
hey now! I run dpa 4023's>V3>Da-p1  .I  like the tapes I pull especially outdoors with this combo. But I'm looking for something warmer to run indoors.I'm wondering if the sonosax is considerd  warm or transparent. If anybody out there has any imput on a warm pre for dpa's let me know.I used to have a mp-2 but sold it years ago after the v3 purchase.I wish I stilll had it for indoor shows.Very stealthy and a warm pre at that.i used to run AKG 391 and MBHO with my mp-2 and really like the tapes.

The sxm2 is "warmer" than the v2..  if 'warmer' is the word you want to use.

I like to think the sxm2 is darker and not as tight as the v2..  or better yet, the v2 is 'cleaner' and  'less forgiving'..

If you are looking for something 'more forgiving' for indoor stuff, the sxm2 might work for you.

cbd runs 4022>sx>mme most of the time. sx is warmer than the v2, maybe a touch *fuzzy*, to my ears lies somewhere between a 148 and v2. warm for a non-transformer based pre. but running a v3 behind it would cut much of that, I think.

and I really like his tapes. prefer them to his 4022>v2>mme most of the time.

Sonosax, warm or dark. I'd rather have the sax over the v2, again it is what you prefer ...
