rechargables....
« on: January 26, 2008, 07:54:23 AM »
I have been using eneloop AA rechargables, along with a dvd battery , using phantom power in my 671 ...I am not happy with the length of time I am getting with this combo...question is:

http://http://www.nimhbattery.com/maha_2700_rechargeable_batteries.php

has anybody tried these in their 671 using phantom power, and were there any issues using them in the 671 battery sled?  Just wondering before I drop some coin into them.....

thanks in advance.....

Look here:

Seems like people don't recommend running any rechargeable batteries greater than 2500 mAh.

well, technically, the dvd batt is charging the internals while both are in use. so you drain it real fast and the aa's go on after the dvd is dead. far from ideal. i use a combo of one or the other. 2 sets of fully charged aa's for one my 671's and 2 dvd batts for the other one. make sense?

After trying the setup the other night, afterwords, I noticed that the internals were dead, and dvd battery still had 3/4 power....I think the eneloops are only 2000mah...should I go with a higher rating?  The dvd battery has a bit of a higher rating, I think 2,200...(wife still snoozed, gear is in the bedroom)....I have seen some of these online:

Is something like this a good investment?  I am amazed at how fast phantom power chews up batteries, or should I go with a phantom power supply to power mics to conserve internals?
