Which cable? Sonosax SX-M2 > Sony-PCM D50
« on: April 02, 2010, 03:56:29 PM »
Hi,

Wondering if there is any advantage between these two setups:

1. XLR outputs of Sonosax > 1/8" mini input of Sony PCM-D50
2. Mini 1/8" line output of Sonosax > 1/8" mini input of Sony PCM-D50

This gear will only be used for open taping, so being compact is not really an issue.

I want to weigh out the pros and cons of each setup so I can order the proper cable.

Thanks in advance!

It'd be interesting to hear a comp, and whether there is a difference.   But one could *assume* unbal to unbal would be best.

Fwiw, not all bal to unbal cables are necessarily wired the same.
