if you get omni's you're gonna have to get close to the stacks, so count on that.

i beg to differ. haha, if i could only describe my hatred for "stack tapes"...

  if you're set on core sounds, i'd suggest dynamic audio or giant squids, they're the same mic, different casing and a helluva lot cheaper - plus they look the same, so you could still technically lie to all your friends and say that you got the cs anyway.

those three are NOT the same mic. dynamic audio "binaurals" are core sound knockoffs, but giant squid omnis are certainly not. same cap, but different (or no) mods.

i've always experienced better results when getting close to the stacks with my dynamic audio "bins"  thats just me tho, i haven't tried too many different combos with them, i just use them when thats the only option.

I didn't know that giant squids were different.  I've only heard one recording done with these and it was the guys 3rd time out in the field and it wasn't what it could be.

I must say tho, for the price i got my dynamic audio mics for they do a good job with stealthing, at least on my budget.
