I've got a 12" flexible t-bar from Sound Pros that works great.  There is also a 6" and a 24" model - depends on what configurations you want to run.

Oh, yeah, +t for being a newbie 'round here and asking good questions.

I have the 24" and had a little custom work done to it so I could use it in a shockmount.  Pics in this thread.

it just seems so small running these little "stealth" mics on the top of a huge stand :)

thanks for all your help. +T for holding the newbie's hand :)

As I try to tell my girlfriend...size doesn't have to matter.

You can still get big sound from small mics.

+t for being a funny bastard.

Glad I wasn't at home drinking a beer because it would have been all over my keyboard and screen.

at several shows, i have seen rigs with nerf footballs on the top of stand, with small mics attatched. i believe these are binaural mics, and the nerf recreates the head shape? does anyone have any insight on this for me, and an evaluation of the effectiveness. thanks.

I convert shows for a guy who does that.  Got a show I can send you along with the AT943 source if you like.

no brainer.  ADK A51TL> wmod-UA5.

Ditto this...  Any of the ADK mics are nice...  And the UA5 is a nice starter "swiss army knife" of taping...

I use ADK A51s LEs>UA5...

Was it a black and yellow football with a Peyton Manning signature on it?
