8gb CF, 100X, $169US
« on: October 25, 2006, 12:26:49 PM »
Is this about as low as I can expect to find for an 8gb card? and, is 100x too fast for audio applications? (24bit/96K)
last, anybody tried CF cards from PQI Corp. before? Never heard of them myself.

what device are you using it in?
a good number of people have used faster then 100x in the hd-p2, but if you are using a microtrack it seems people do much better with slower cards like 40-80
http://taperssection.com/index.php?topic=67390.0 you see the price is about as god as it gets right now imo
Mics - AKG ck61/ck63 (c480b & Naiant actives), SP-BMC-2
XLR Cables - Silver Path w/Darktrain stubbies
Interconnect Cables - Dogstar (XLR), Darktrain (RCA > 1/8) (1/8 > 1/8), and Kind Kables (1/8f > 1/4)
Preamps - Naiant Littlebox & Tinybox
Recorders - PCM-M10 & DR-60D

Hi. I should have specified - I'm running the Microtrack. So, thanks to the link to the other thread, I'm going to look for that Kingston Elite 8gb card.
