Moke is making a very good statement with very few words. Let me translate from "the purists" POV:
If you have some excellent cables, why use the interconects at all even if it is to prevent moving your gear around.
IMO, unless the V3 is welded in to a rack mount, it can be moved a little at the beginning and end of each show.
From an "engineering" POV, the added 1 foot of cable, plus extra set of connections adds the "potential" to add 1] impedence, 2] shielding/grounding issues ( i.e. if cross wired), 3] potential plain old bad connection, 4] having to protect the extra connection from rain, beer, external environment.
If you're not a purist, then of course, you shrug and say what can an extra foot of cable and 4 more connectors hurt?
