taping silverclad's to busy ground
« on: September 16, 2005, 07:36:32 PM »
I just set up this afternoon for a show tonight, I wanted to run my mics right in front of stage, but not onstage. however that is danger zone with the crowd and dancers, so I am running my bag/gear on the stage (I know the band). my segue dogstars run right along the ground, wrapped in toilet paper (keep grime away) and are duct taped to the ground really well. obviously a lot of people will be stepping on them.

do you think they will be damaged?

You should be fine.  Teflon is tough.

And if you scuff the jacket, well that's called a battle scar and you'll have a story.

Oh yeah, get some gaffers tape ;-)

Looks like I'm a little late with this answer to be of use, but I wouldn't imagine it'll be a problem.  The cables are pretty durable, and as Michael says, teflon is very tough.  How'd you make out?

they are doing fabulous, I'm runnin same place tonight.  I might have to order some longer ones. will these cables remain effective at 20-25 ft.?

sound installations run lesser quality cable a hundred feet and more.   Don't be afraid of long cables.
