Low Cost Shockmount Pics
« on: August 21, 2010, 09:44:49 AM »
Not sure if anyone's posted a picture before, but I got one of those Nady SSM-5 shockmounts and combined it with an Atlas AD-7B extension tube.  http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/AD7B/

A few turns of duct tape prevents the extension tube from moving.  In my case, I attach my Neumann STH-100 mount to this setup... nice, super lightweight, easy to manage.

Basically about $20 total.  You can use a flathead screwdriver and lock down the bolt to prevent any movement of the mount during use.
Mics:  Neumann SKM-140, Neumann SKM-184
Pres:  Lunatec V3, Sound Devices MP-2
A/D:  Oade Mod Sony SBM-1
Recorder:  Sound Devices 722, Nomad JB3
