few more shock mount questions...
« on: April 15, 2003, 04:48:32 PM »
it's down to the Audio Technica AT8415 or AT8410a.  I'm sort of leaning towards the AT8415 b/c it looks like u can adjust one shock mount up and one down so you'd be able to run xy w/out having to flip one mount upside down.

Can u do the same thing w/ AT8410a's?  Can anyone who has used both of these give me some info. on which is better, if there is a better one?

Thanks,
Justin

I like that at8410's much better. They are more sturdy and better built, and you don't have those damn rubber bands on em!

Your mounting bar should allow you to run either set of shockmounts in a variety of configurations.  Depending on your mic mount bar and the config you want to use, you may be able to run them both face up, or one face up, one face down.

FWIW, I liked the 8415s better because of those damn rubber bands, their smaller form factor, and don't feel they are any less robust than the 8410s.

Bottom line, I don't think you can go wrong with either model.

i think the 8415's look like what i'm looking for.  where's a good place to buy them at?  most places don't carry them like they do the 8410's.  The 8410 i found for $42.....cheapest i've found the 8415 is like $55.....anybody know any place that i can get them for cheaper at?

thanks,
Justin
