JB3 internal battery life

Looks like I have a couple that puke after about 2 to 2.5 hours. How long should they last? I leave them on charge till the indicator goes out. I've only used them for about ten shows, bought 'em new.

I've had numerous issues with the batteries. Not charging, falsely telling me they are charged, etc etc etc. I just always carry around 4 with me at shows to be safe. I can usually get through an entire show (opener and headliner... ~2 - 3hrs) on 1 set of batteries. At this time the poer indicator shows 1/2 power still left.

I have two JB3s, and with both batteries in each, i can guarantee at least 5 hours, and depending upon the ambient temperature, up to 7 hours.

I have an xtra pair and carry them for same reasons. At the big house show I taped Mule and ABB(almost 3 hours) on one set and had 2 bars left at the end. Show before that the same set puked after less than 2 hours.

i can get about 6hrs :)

folks, did you charge/discharge these correctly as soon as you got them ala a cell phone, charge up, total discharge, charge up, ABUSE after that

Yes sir. I think there's a known issue with the batteries, as Creative wasn't surprised when I called them and asked for a replacement.

Yes I did (I think...hmmmmm). They actually wanted me to send back the whole thing (JB3), But I said "no way. It's the battery, I tested others and they charged fine".

run them til they die ;)
And how do you do that? They shut off when a selection ends. On a brand new JB3 there are no selections. Play back life is supposedly what? Wow, I have better things to do!

throw your rig on for awhile andlet it die, simple enuf :)

OK :) Forgot about continuous :-[. This thing really pisses me off sometimes. Can ya tell! The 2 new batts I have I should be able to condition them properly. But the 2 older ones(used for about 10 shows and never conditioned)might be plagued with memory effect? Thanks.

Looks like I got a bad one. Brand new, I guess they'll replace it. Explains the 2-3 hours of run time, with 2 batts in. Thanks for everyones help.
