Title: Bad Header or Ghost File - What next?
Post by: Datfly on October 21, 2017, 06:29:15 PM
First time ever I had a corrupt file from my trusty Tascam DR-2d.
When I went to stop the recording & shut off the recorder at the end of the show it would not let me.
I let it go & later I saw that it had stopped. When I pulled the card it showed the files but at 0 only.
However the volume shows that the correct amount of info should be recorded to the card. 21.7 GB free of 29.7 GB

I have run ZAR for windows and it found nothing as well as Recuva.

What should I try next?
Is this a bad header?

Recording is 24/48

Thanks,
Datfly

I've successfully reconstructed 0 Byte files when my usb thumb drive is pulled too quickly from the sdb before it's done writing headers or whatnot.  This video walks you through the steps nicely.  It may or may not work for your situation, but worth giving it a try.  I keep a shorthand version of the steps involved for whenever this occurs.
