Hey there,
quite a few seemingly old Schoeps CMC5 preamps have popped up on German e-bay recently. However, instead of standard XLR connectors they have a different kind of connector that I have never seen before. Can anybody tell me what this is and if it's possible to make an adapter cable for standard P48 over XLR connectors.
Thanks!

They're one of the many types/sizes of 3-pin Lemo connectors. No idea which one but they appear to have been a special for ORF (state broadcaster) in Austria
They've appeared on UK eBay too and teh seller has so far always mentioned in the listing details that the listing includes Lemo-XLR adapter cables. I wouldn't be at all surprised to find that Schoeps would replace the Lemo with an XLR if you ask them (and pay). Drop them (or your local Schoeps distributor) a line and see what they say.

Also you can send them back to Schoeps and have the connectors swapped with standard XLR's

I wouldn't, as the Lemo is a better connector than the XLR.
