Who's used the Sytek MPX-4AII?
« on: December 24, 2006, 01:32:10 AM »
I've read all the info, but still have a couple q's...

- can it be powered in the field?

- what's the realistic difference between standard and Burr-Brown modded?
Socks are overrated.

I own two of them and think they are wonderful preamps!  the main difference with the burr brown is that it definitely gives a much warmer and beefier feel to the sytek sound. however i've never used them for ambient taping so i can only attest to their sounds for the applications i've used them for, which is just about everything else.

as for powering in the field.  you'd need a big battery and a power inverter.
