using PIP (spundpros) mics with XLR adapter

if I am getting this, what exactly is the difference between the regular 25 dollar one and the "phantom power option" ones? my preamp can be switched to 12v.
what's the deal?

If I understand what you are asking, the difference is the ones that are phantom adapted can be plugged into phantom power and the voltage will be brought down to the correct level for the mics. Without the phantom power added you are just changing the cabling to XLRs
