Did it to save batteries while  and to my surprise, I rolled 4022>661 for 2.5 hours last night on a set of Duracell 2600 rebranded eneloops. And I'm listening now, still on all bars. Good to know. With the LED on I'd have gotten through it, but it would have been on one or two bars at the end.

I've never thought to run mine with the LED off, although I had read it was a possibility to set. I'd agree with you that I could not get more than 2 hours of record time from a set of AA's.(with P48 on and AKG 460's.)

I was going to suggest USB batteries -but I missed the  !

Yeah, I'd forgotten that you can go into "display" and shut the led display off, the Extra juice was dramatic. All bars after running for 2:30. Last time I tried to cover a two hour set I was flashing one bar. And I listened for an hour plus today.
