DIO2496 help....

Just installed the DIO2496 card......a couple questions, as I don't have the book.....I was able to use the spldf input from my dap1( as a test)  > soundforge 7.0 no problem......how do I use the optical input???     Also is it possible to set up my computer so I can hear the source as its recording to soundforge 7.0 with out the use of external speakers???
