Stealth Mic Recommendations $200
« on: March 22, 2006, 06:52:08 PM »
ok, I am looking for some good quality stealth mics for around $200, $250 max. I have looked into the (SP CMC4's) AT853's but all the posts I have read say they can brickwall easily at high SPL's. And I dont' want to use a preamp to combat this. I know the SP CMC2's are a viable option. I would prefer something small and simple. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated

I have a JB3 and SPSB6 W/ Bass Roll off

I used to use the AT831 (SP CMC-whatever) and got good results.  With the battery box (if you've got level knobs or sliders), you shouldn't have any problems.
