Just picked up an apogee mmp. I am having all sorts of power issues. What batteries are folks using on these power hogs? This thing is killing batteries the portico and the ad2k never even came close to denting

Acording to pacg 15 of the user manual:
http://www.apogeedigital.com/pdf/minimp_usersguide.pdf (http://www.apogeedigital.com/pdf/minimp_usersguide.pdf)
It should pull no more then 3Watts or about 500mA at 6V or 250mA at 12V. - It definitely shouldn't be pulling more then a AD2K or Portico.
You may want to contact Apogee to see if this is normal - What voltage are you running it at?
May be a cap is going bad or some other component is failing internally causing this issue.

When I had one it easily ran 4.5hrs.+ on an Initial RB-276 DVD battery. It does sound like there is a good chance that something is wrong with the unit.

The mini mp at question here is mine I just ran a test mk21>kcy>vst>mini mp> 744 using a ancient DVD battery 5400 mah at 9 volt and I'm at 5 hrs 45 and have 1 lights left so I'm going to assume something perm had going on was the issue plus the unit has been ran by team Richmond with no issues.I stop testing at 5 hrs 45 mins so im sure i could have made it 6 hours

Looks like my battery took a crap. Brand new battery geek. Not normal for them.
