Title: Stand Size & Footprint
Post by: jmitchell on May 16, 2016, 08:16:42 PM
I am guessing this is the best place for this question.  I am going to be going to Candler Park Music Festival (http://candlerparkmusicfestival.com/) and I am thinking that I am going to need a stand.  The stand that I have is pretty big, about 42" collapsed.  I am looking for something that is going to breakdown much smaller than that, and will be something that I won't have too much trouble getting in.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Depends on your needs as far as blocking and stability. I like this guy for outdoor festivals and in general: http://www.thomann.de/gb/manfrotto_1004bac_124366_cm_black.htm

If you're not worried too much about stability (say, you can lean against a seat, rail or a partial wall, etc. then the lowest profile thing is the Manfrotto tripod base with a 7' extension arm screwed into it (plus additional arms if you need to).
