Post by: OOK on March 09, 2015, 01:42:52 PM
I am just wondering if anyone has ever put a CF card in the SD702 larger than 32gig and were there any issues?

Peace OOK

I thought others might want to know. I heard back from SD support.  I asked specifically about 64 and 128gig cards and they there should be no issues.  Wahooo....

Peace ook

i have a new 702 and a 64 g card, so thanks for the info!  i'm also curious about the mic gain settings vs line input.  is the low gain sufficient for live taping or are folks using the line in with phantom power to accomodate spl's at loud shows?

Of course, it depends on your mic output and SPLs, but if it's like the 722 (I think it's the same), you can set the mic gain to "low fades to off" and get 0 to 52dB of mic pre gain. AFAIK, it's real gain control, so very low gain means just that and there is no danger of overloading the stage so long as the meters say you are under zero.

Be aware that mic input gain control is analog and changes smoothly, whereas line level input control is digital and makes a slight zipper noise (ticking) when turned fast.

Sorry I didn't see this before now, but I used a SD > CF card adapter that I bought for $15.  I used a $65 128gb PNY SD card in 744T without issues.
