Magnepan Service?
« on: December 15, 2003, 01:00:44 AM »
Finally got my MMG's out in the open (at the parents' house over break) and one of them seems to be rattling a little on bass-heavy recordings, especially at high volumes.  I've heard other people talking about how the casing sometimes can separate from the actual guts of the speaker and that can cause this annoying little problem. :-[

That said, I'm looking to send them somewhere to see if I can get them repaired and re-speced while I'm gone during January.  Anyone have any experience with Magnepan's service department?  What kind of cost am I looking at?  Obviously no one can estimate it other than the service center, but if I'm looking at more than I can really afford, I'll probably just learn to deal with it for the time being.

I'm going to call them tomorrow morning, but I figured I'd post here and see if anyone had similar experiences.

Thanks!

I bought them used, not sure if the warranty transferred or not.
