Tascam DR60 monitor output
« on: June 07, 2015, 09:01:24 PM »
Hoping someone can point me in the right direction without having to do the trial and error thing. Going to be taping a show with mics on 1-2 and SBD on 3-4. Want to shoot the mix to one of the outputs while recording so I can feed the audio input to as camcorder. If I set the "monitor select" to mix, will that do the trick? I got line out, headphones out, line out. Which one will give me the mix? Will it pass though while recording or is it only for playback?

Thanks in advance, Dan

Just in case it helps anyone. The outputs on the headphone and line out seem to be the same, but the headphone out is hotter. It's exactly like the input mix. If you are running 100% on 1 and 2 and 75% on 3 and 4 (levels that is) and the monitor set on "mix", you get a 100%/75%mix out. I'm going to try it tomorrow throwing a 50/50 sbd/aud mix to a video cam. In my tests, what you get on the levels is what you get on the out mix. All 4 channels hitting the same mark = 50/50 mix. Back off on which source you want the less of and normalize the audio files in post if you are doing an on the fly matrix and sending the output to a cam or other recorder.
