I've got this odd issue that occurs when loading a web page or scrolling the mouse wheel.
When either occurs you can hear a faint "crackling frequency" in the monitors.  It's hard
to describe the actual sound.  It's almost like what you might hear between beeps if you
were using Morse Code.  It's odd.

Searching google reveals I'm am not alone with this issue.  I use the onboard High Definition
Audio for sound on my PC.  Some say (per google) it is a driver issue, or an IRQ conflict.
Suggestions range from trying a different driver to moving the audio card to a differnt slot
(which I can't do, it's onboard).  I've tried a newer driver, different mouse, USB vs PS2 input
for two mice, problem still exists.  Monitors are brand new (two days old) Yamaha HS80M.
I've yet to try a secondary sound card.

Anyone have this issue before and been able to solve it?  It's quite frustrating.

ETA: The busier the web page, the worse the sounds gets.

Ya know, I'm not real sure.  It's an HP xw8400 Workstation.  Dual Xeon, Dual Core.
I'll have to crack the case open and have a look.  Keyboard/mouse are wired, FYI.

Other suggestions included muting some of the outputs in the control panel.  Worked
for some folks but not for me.

Sounds are already off.

I've got an Maudio 24/96 card I might slap in, for giggles.

Good!   The on-board a/v cards are never the best option IME.

This is likely an open ground issue on the outlet.  Strange it seemingly only
presents itself when using a brower but my outlet tester says open ground.

Ran the monitors off an extension from another room (outlet test passes)
and the issue seems to have subsided, but I'm going to leave it for a bit to
be sure.

An Ebtech Hum X might be worth a shot...

Thanks for the suggestion.  I assume I could use this on a surge protector,
otherwise I'd need one for each monitor.  It might be possible for me to
rewire the outlet using 14/3 instead of 14/2.  I need to look at that.
