new toys
« on: May 29, 2003, 07:33:09 PM »
ok so i just won an auction on ebay for a tcd-d3 dat W/RMR-D3 digital/optical i/o piece...i intend to just use ot for patching, would that be a safe assumption?  i should be able to take and send a digital signal with it...i hope.
anyways, this will be my first experience with DAT as i am currently a laptop 24-bit guy, so this will just be an extra deck, mostly to take to bonnaroo (i'm 90% sure i will go) to tape side acts while my rig is going at another stage.  but i would also like to keep this around to patch into other gear and hear how it sounds, have a light package to bring into shows when i'm lazy, etc.
anyone have experience with these, and what's the best (and least expensive!) way to keep them powered during shows?
thanks for the help!

Simp, I am 99% sure the digi I/O on the RMR requires AC 110v power, not DC.  In order to digi patch you'd need a 7 pin cable like the D-7 or D-8s'.

That being said, bring some XLR->1/8" cables and I'd be glad to get you an analog patch at 'roo if I'm taping anything you're interested in, drop me a line and I'll let you know the shows I'm hitting

peace, chris

hehe chris, you spelled quote wrong and i almost didn't bother reading that part...well thanks for the info!  i will have to look into that, possibly there's a way to power it in the field...otherwise, anyone got an extra oade cable?  man no matter what i do i can never have enough equipment.  we need to form a "tapers anonymous" group or sumthin.
