what are you lookin to do? take shows on your PC, and divide tracks and all?? i use Cool edit pro, if you download it from cnet.com it will cost you 249, but if you get a hacked verson from a p2p you can get the full verson for free...  if your specifically looking for wavlab then look for it with a p2p program like kazaa, or try www.slsk.org  solseek, even grokster.

I'm a firm believer in supporting good software by buying it, but...not everyone feels this way, and I hold no disregard of folks who use hacked software (besides, I've been known to do it on occasion for some of the really outrageously priced software out there).

FWIW, my version of Cool Edit 2000 cost something like $40-$60 and does everything I need it to do for mastering DAT to CDR.

But, you're specifically looking for Wavelab so this probably doesn't help.   8)

If you have downloaded WaveLab 4.0 from somewhere like Kazza,grokster,etc....

Be sure you have Version G, not version C

There is a problem with resampling with version C

Brian brings up a good point.  I am not sure how I feel about hacked software, but if it is something I cannot afford, I generally use it.  Maybe not the most kosher way of doing things, but I wsant it dammnit!  Practically and fiscally speaking, the hacked software most of us use we would not have bought in the first place, thus eleveating the fiscal impact on said companies.  What do you think!

I know being only 19 and a student, there is no way under the sun I could have purchased WaveLab

But in most cases, I stay away from software that has been distributed illegaly

for no more than i use sound forge and a few other hacked programs i have, i don't feel bad about it.  if i was using it to make money or for a real job, not just a hobby then i would spend the money and actually buy the software....but for no more than i use it i can't see paying that much for software.  that's just my opinion though.
