sample sounds nice!!  Sounds like you were really close to the stage, were you by chance?

Curious on the Church pre though, is that a modded one that puts out a full 9v (at the mic input)? Or is that a stock one that only puts out 3.8v (which is all the power the Church mics need)?

Reason why I ask is because I'm looking at one of his 9100 preamp myself to power my ck91 actives. However my caps need the full 9v for power, and the Church pre would need to be modded in order to do that.

I was about 15' from the stage, 10' high.

My 9100 puts out 8.6v @ full charge i believe, further down in this thread i brought up a discussion about the pairing of naks with the 9100 and I believe 8.6v was the max put out, i could be wrong though.

It sounds really good.  I think.  ;D

To be honest, in that sample the bow with the stringed instrument is kind of vibrating in a way which almost sounds like a brickwall type distortion on the mic, but I'm quite sure that is the sound of the instrument, not brickwalling.  I pull it up in audacity and it certainly doesn't look brickwalled.

Looking forward to hearing more.

The 9100 puts out about 97 % of what the total battery power is of the 9 volt battery your using.
