3-wire battery box question
« on: September 06, 2010, 03:48:11 PM »
I have been using akg ck91 ->3wire battery box-> r9hr. I recently picked up a pair of at853 that terminate to (2) mini xlr's.

Would I be able to power the at853's with the akg 3 wire battery box?
Are all 3wire battery boxes built/wired the same?

Just thought I would ask first. Don't want to damage the AT's

Short answer, no. Different mics have different leads assigned.
If your bbox is custom built there's no way to tell unless you open, and/or measure the current on the terminals.
