does anyone know the approximate current draw of an mp-2?  i'm trying to find out how long i could power an mp-2 (w/ phantom power to my 480s) and an adc-20 (300 mA) off of one 6v 7ah sla.  any help would be appreciated.

FWIW, the 750 mA guesstimate came from:

The user manual states that 48 phantom power, bright meters on, feeding headphones, it'll get 2 hrs off Duracell AA MN 1500.  I believe the 1500 = the mAH rating of the batteries.  So...roughly 2 hours.  This leads me to believe it's somewhere in the ballpark of 750 mA.  Can't find any confirming info on this, though.

I've been emailing some manufacturers of gear to get some help confirming current draw numbers in the Archive section.  Here's the response from SD wrt the MP2, running 48v phantom power with a pair of mics drawing 4 mA:

48 V x 0.04 A x 2 (mics) = 3.84 W drawn from phantom mics
6 V x 0.096 A = 0.58 W drawing at idle
add another couple hundred mW for operation = 4.62 W

4.62 W / 6 V = 0.77 A (770 mA @ 6 V)

770 mA is your magic number. Again, you can see that phantom is the
major source of current draw.

Running the numbers again using 15 V phantom, even if the microphones draw twice the current will give you...530 mA. So, if you can use the lower phantom position, you lower current draw by more than 30%.

are you sure about these Apogee numbers?  they look off to me?  i was always under the impression the Mme was around 500-600 ma.  also, the AD1K/ 500e was around 1000 ma or a little above.  something definately don't jive here, as the Mme run times are better than double what the AD1K or 500e were, and both of those were in the same ballpark as far as runtime.

Nope.  I got the AD1K number from a Marc Nutter post somewhere and estimated the MiniMe based on people's posts here and elsewhere.  

I just spoke with Apogee support and here're the numbers they gave me for max current draw:

AD1K/500:  1,200 mA
MiniMe:  800 mA

So, my estimates were definitely not accurate!  The archive now reflects the numbers above.  Thanks for the heads up, Scott!
