how would i go about wiring the mono 1/8" up to the battery, would the mono 1/8" have 1 or 2 wires coming from it(stereo has 2)? how would i know which should be positive and which negative?

There'll be two wires - one pos (+), one neg (-).  According to the PS-2 diagram on the box, it should be tip (+), ring (-).
