Vegas issue. Help needed like an hour ago...
« on: July 12, 2011, 01:56:52 PM »
Just got done mixing 3 cams. Literally the last camera take was selected and Vegas locked up. Screen turned milky white. Not sure what to do. And no I wasn't saving along the way. My bad. Did I just lose 90 minutes of mixed video? I've never had one issue. For now I've left it open but don't know if I'm screwed or not...Help please...errr this sucks.

When it's crashed on me, and I re-open it (usually) offers to try and recover the lost project.

If it's doesn't come back I would close and give it a shot.

best thing you can do is do a hard power off by holding down the physical power button while Vegas is open.
When you reboot, open Vegas and you will likely get a pop up that ask you if you want to open the last backed up version.

In the future save as you go ;)

It's a real pain when this happens but as mentioned above, Vegas should prompt you about recovering the file when you next open the program. There is a basic 'autosave' option on Vegas (every 5mins I think), but it's really best to get into the habit of manually saving (ctrl+s) every few mins, and possibly incrementally saving at longer intervals eg. filename001, filename002, that way you can always go back to a previous file if something gets screwed big time.

Yeah save as you go for sure.Open up the task manager and in processes end the vegas.exe .reopen vegas and you will have the restored version.quickly rename it. If you try to end the not responding program in the task managers programs tab nothing will happen you must go into the processes tab and locate the vegas.exe. Do not hard power off your computer.
