Microsoft is selling the subscription version of Office 2013 for $100 a year.

Installable on five machines.
Five user accounts
Each user account gets 1TB of storage (filesize up to 10GB supported)

So, for under $10 a month you can have 1TB for each family member and Office as well.

My wife's OneDrive is currently uploading 200+ GB of family photos

My working directory for audio projects in now on my OneDrive.

Offsite backups of our data? Priceless.

Market is moving to 100 per TB. Google Drive and Dropbox have stepped up and matched it. Add on data is 20 a month for the second TB currently.

As storage prices drop, I can't see this going up.

I was just researching the dropbox option yesterday.  Any idea how they require payment...I assume one $100 payment for the year? 

It would be cool to put my non-archive.org shows up there for sharing.  I normally put those on etree, but alot of them die pretty quickly because people aren't willing to keep seeding the torrent.  This would be a nice alternative.

www.adrive.com gives you 50gb for free, with no file size limits. you have to sign up for 100gb for 60 days, then you choose to downgrade to 50gb for free or pay for the extra 50. I'm still within the 60 day window, I'll report back on how friendly they are after I choose to stay free.

After conducting several research sessions over the course of a week, last night I decided to go with MyPCBackup.  Unlimited storage for $100 for the first year.  It goes up a little bit after that.

I haven't started using it yet.  I'll report results.

I'm a Dropbox Pro subscriber with the packrat plugin.  For me it is a one time a year payment of $100 plus another $10-20 for packrat which permits permanent undelete.  This is set up for auto-renewal.

Around the same time as Microsoft's announcement/offer Dropbox upped their capacity on Pro from 100GB to 1000GB without a blink.

onedrive now is unlimited as well for $100 per year, but it has not been fully rolled out to all users (I think they said they hope to have all accounts cut over in the next 3-6 months)

Ok, the trial period is over. I downgraded for free to 50 gigs. At first i thought they degraded the upload speed, as i had some errors that i never experienced before. But since then, uploads have been fine. I'm willing to write that off as a fluke. The only downside to the free service i can determine is that you can't share a folder, you have to share individual files in the folder....a minor inconvenience, imho. This is a worthwhile place to store big files, and the only one i've found that will do the job for me for free. (My files are 300k to 700kb each, which exceed all the other free places size limits)
