PCM-D50 power issue
« on: December 29, 2014, 05:34:43 PM »
Well, 'finally' picked up one of these units.  Mint condition and went to power it up and nada . . . no power with either batteries or AC adapter.

Seller - seems a decent chap - is adamant that this unit worked the last of the few times he used it.  He's staying in regular touch with me through all and (I'll find out quick enough) seems open to refunding for a non-operational unit, but thought I'd query . . .

. . . . is there something I'm missing in this that might be obvious to others?  Was thinking perhaps this unit needed a Pro Duo card installed to power up? Or some 'lockout' setting enabled??

If not, refund it is as Sony doesn't seem particularly interested in even having a look at the unit.

Thanks in advance for any/all on this.

My D50 had the same problem, happened about a year after I bought it from one day to another.
I used its internal memory all the time so I'm not sure that's the issue.

Luckily I could send it back to Thomann and get it replaced. I don't think they knew what it was either.
