Church audio ca9100 pre amp question
« on: October 09, 2016, 02:50:28 PM »
Hi all,

Just opened my ca9100 pre amp to replace the battery. And I noticed there is a 2 way switch on it. Where is it for? And what does it do?

Opened it and it says hips (left) and fr hips (right). I'm guessing it's the high pass filter? Wondering which setting to use for a rock concert. Taped several shows already with the switch to the left.

Not sure which way is which, seems like "on" and "off" should be there if it's a HPF. I know the STC-9000s had a HPF switch there. Either way, it needs to be off in all cases if using cardioids. There are some applications for running omnis with HPF on but IMO it's better to do that in post.
