powering camcorder

(1/1)

HealthCov Chris:
I'm looking to pick up a cheap camcorder to attach to my mic stand for small venues.  How are you all powering your recorders?  What is needed to make it through a 2hr set?

The older Canon Vixia that I use runs on 8.4v through the AC adapter. I just whacked the cord and wired it to a tip that fits the Naztech 15000 and set it for 9v output. Gets between 8-10 hours.

I have a newer Canon that runs at 5 something volts. I need to figure out an external power source for that also

Craig T:
I have false battery with cable that connects to a Naztech 15000 set for 9v to power my Panasonic FZ2500.  I've never come close to even running it down to 50%, but would probably estimate 10 hours.

HealthCov Chris:
Thanks fellas!   I’m going to put this to use.  I chopped  the end off my TalentCell and fixed it with a Tascam DR680 tip once.  Looks like i’ll Do the same for the camera this time.  So, I just need to match the Volts up between battery out and camera in?
