What do "din" and "nos" mean in the context of live recordings?

Hi all.. sorry if there's a better place for this question rather than a whole topic here, please point me in the right direction if this is the wrong way to ask such a minor thing!

I see the following:

Church Audio CA-14 omni (nos)>CA-9100 & CA-14 card (din)>CA-UBB2>OCM R44>hdsd card @ 44.1 kHz 16 bit wav. mics 7.5' up OTS ROC


If these were to say (AUD) I would know it means audience, but what do the "nos" and "din" mean?

Ahh, thank you! I simply needed to add "technique" to my googling to yield the proper path.

Interesting that this person used the din technique with omnis. I have some reading to do :) Appreciate the reply.

Looks like they had the omnis in NOS and the cards in DIN.

Note that technically the only way to set up mics NOS is with cards, as that pattern is "part of" the overall setup.  That said, it's pretty common to still use abbreviations like NOS, DIN, ORTF, etc. even when the "correct" polar pattern isn't being used.  It's a lot simpler to say that subcards were set up NOS than it is to say that the subcards were spaced 30 cm apart at a 90 degree angle.

You used to see a lot more AB then you do now it seems too
