FM->D8 dat question.
« on: June 26, 2004, 03:44:52 PM »
Hi,

I want to record FM -> D8 dat from a Sony cd/fm walkman.  The walkman has a line out but the sound quality is not as good as the headphone jack.  Signal boost question....should I boost the signal mostly from the walkman, boost the signal mostly on the dat, or do a 50/50 signal boost split?

Going walkman to dat do i use just an everyday standard cable with 2 male ends or are there high quality ones?  If there are high quality are they shielded? The reason why i ask this question is that lots of the portable players use the headphones or cable as an antenna.

Can I use a longer than needed cable between walkman to D8 and attach this to a mic stand for reception?  If so, would this "antenna" affect a rig in any way thats attached to the stand?
