hanging speakers from the ceiling?
« on: September 03, 2004, 04:13:33 PM »
ok,

first off don't start on the bose bitch, got a set of 2.2s coming, $45, so as long as they're not blown, can't say they're overpriced.

my ? is if i hang them from the ceiling; r ch on the lf and v/v will i get a decent sound?

don't think the channel x will make much of a difference as when it's cranked i'll be outside, but will it sound ok at lowwer volumes inside?

I've heard systems with hanging speakers and they sounded OK.

For good sound you really need the speaker cabinets to be fixed in position and not swaying in opposition to the driver movement.  You would be better served to use a rigid wall mounted support if you want them mounted high.

thanks guys,

my intention is to build shelves for them, were my ceiling steps up so that should take care of any swaying issues, the step up is about the same as the speakers are tall, and giving their config. i hope to get a good mix.
